Daniel Farke has claimed that he felt Norwich did an ‘excellent job’ to control the likes of Arsenal trio Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe on Saturday, as he told his post-match press conference.

Arsenal recorded a narrow 1-0 win against the newly-promoted side, with both teams going into the clash at the Emirates with zero points to their name and in a world of bother.

It was Aubameyang himself who scored the only goal of the game from close-range, but there was controversy surrounding it.

Farke shared his thoughts on how Arsenal start games and their threat from the break.

“The first 15 minutes, Arsenal was on the front foot,” said Farke. “I have to expect this because they always start unbelievably on the front foot.

“It’s complicated to control all their counter-attacks, with players like Aubameyang, Saka and Smith Rowe. I think we did an excellent job to control these moments.”

It wasn’t a convincing win from the home side, but one that they just needed to put on the board, regardless of performance.

It’s three points and a clean sheet for Mikel Arteta and this is where they now need to move forward.

Even if Arsenal put up another three points in another unconvincing fashion, it doesn’t matter because a win is a win and it will breed confidence.

If that happens then it will be interesting to see how the team performs with that confidence under their belt because a certain North London derby is coming up soon.
