Jamie Carragher has claimed that Luis Diaz was ‘excellent again’ for Liverpool during their 2-0 win over Rangers in the Champions League on Tuesday night at Anfield, as he told CBS Sports (04/10/22 at 10:35 pm).
Diaz didn’t start Liverpool’s 3-3 draw against Brighton over the weekend, but he was brought in for yesterday’s action and Carragher thinks it’s ‘fantastic’ they have a player like him to bring in.
The 25-year-old won the penalty that led to Mohamed Salah doubling Liverpool’s lead in the second half, after Trent Alexander-Arnold opened the scoring with a brilliant free-kick.

From his ten Premier League and Champions League matches this season, Diaz has scored four and assisted two.
There’s no doubt that he is becoming a firm fan favourite on Merseyside, as Carragher shared his thoughts on his performance yesterday.
“Luis Diaz was excellent again,” said Carragher. “Great dribble, gets brought down for a penalty, which Mo Salah finishes.
“Diaz again, we talk about Liverpool missing Mane. But they have got him to come in, which is fantastic.”

Ever since Diaz stepped onto the Anfield turf, the all-action winger has brought a new lease of life to Liverpool.
The Colombian star has an infectious nature in the way he plays because it lifts his team and the crowd when he gets on the ball.
The unpredictable nature of his game also helps, as well as his ability to make something very special out of nothing.
That was proven when ten-man Liverpool rescued a draw against Crystal Palace in August, with Diaz’s moment of brilliance preventing this indifferent start to the campaign from being a lot worse for the Reds.
