Dion Dublin feels Tottenham will ‘definitely struggle’ to mount a Premier League title challenge if they lose Harry Kane through injury, as he told Premier League Productions.
The former striker and BBC pundit thinks like Liverpool, who have lost Virgil van Dijk for large parts of the season, they will find it difficult to ‘fight right until the end’ for the Premier League crown.
Spurs are level on points with Liverpool in the table, but games against Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal coming up will seriously test the North London clubs resolve.
Whilst Tottenham’s forward line has been bulked up with the return of Gareth Bale this summer, former Manchester United and Aston Villa forward Dublin thinks they will still suffer if Kane is unavailable.
“Harry Kane, I still think he’s the best in the world at what he does, which is score goals,” said Dublin. “If he’s not there then they definitely struggle.
“With Van Dijk not being fit for the season now for Liverpool, I am saying that Liverpool are going to struggle to be in that fight right until the end because of Van Dijk.
“If Kane is not there for Spurs then I am thinking exactly the same thing. He has the perfect physique for a centre-forward. He is 6ft3/6ft4, maybe? Slender, strong, quick and powerful. His vision is amazing. He can be a ten if he wants to drop into those pockets and pick a pass. Players react to Kane.”

Tottenham’s squad is pretty healthy, at this moment in time, but those on Merseyside are on the receiving end of some serious bad luck.
Van Dijk’s injury was bad enough, but over this unnecessary international break, they have now lost Joe Gomez, as well as Mo Salah having to self-isolate.
The injury list is pretty long on Merseyside and added with the fact that there are no crowds many feel those extra few doors are open in the race to become champions of England this season.
