Real Betis have reportedly made contact to sign Juventus striker Paulo Dybala, with Tottenham also in the mix to sign the soon-to-be free agent this summer.

According to Corriere della Sera, Manuel Pellegrini’s side are interested in signing the Argentine international, with the former West Ham manager eager to push the boat out to sign the world-class South American attacker.

With Betis in the fight for UEFA Champions League qualification in La Liga, the Seville-based club could have an outside chance of landing Dybala despite interest from huge clubs around Europe, such as Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and the aforementioned Tottenham.

Sky Sports News reported this week that the striker had failed to agree on a new contract with Juventus, with Dybala, who earns a reported £220,000-a-week, now set to leave the Serie A giants for free this summer in what will be one of the biggest transfers of the window.

Indeed, Dybala will be one of the most sought-after players in the coming weeks, yet Betis’ interest in the striker could indicate that the Juventus star might move to a less prestigious club rather than an Atletico or a Tottenham.

After all, whilst Betis will not be able to match Dybala’s wages, the Spanish side could offer the forward Champions League football as well as an opportunity to be the main man for a big club, whilst sides like Tottenham are stacked in the attacking position.

Betis would be viewed by many as a step down for Dybala, yet with Pellegrini leading the club to a potential top-four finish, the Argentine attacker could be of interest to the Juventus star ahead of the summer window.

The club are based in one of Europe’s best cities and La Liga could suit Dybala’s style of play. And in an exciting squad all hitting their prime under an experienced manager, the 28-year-old could find a new home in Betis despite links to bigger clubs.
