Arsenal went all out and did everything they could to sign Declan Rice in the summer from West Ham United.
Even Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City did everything they could to secure his talents, but Arsenal pushed to the point of breaking their club-record transfer.
That £100 million+ that has been spent on Declan Rice resulted in a massive spotlight being put on the midfielder.
Fast forward to the present, with the 2023/24 Premier League season a few months in, he is proving to be one of Arsenal’s best players.
Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson thinks Declan Rice is so good that he now gets into ‘any Premier League team’, as he told Sky Sports News (02/12/23 at 12:15 pm).
Perhaps the only team or player who would argue against that is Manchester City’s defensive brain, Rodri.

“Not just for Arsenal, but for England,” said Dawson. “He is sensational. He gets in any team in the Premier League.
“He has been absolutely brilliant. He could be the difference. I think he is that good and he could be the difference (in winning the Premier League title).”

When he got injured days before Mikel Arteta’s side played Manchester City at the Emirates, it was a body blow to the team.
But the 30-year-old has started only three Premier League games this term and he hasn’t been a miss.
Rice is the reason why Arsenal have been able to cope well without the Ghana star, who is now being talked about possibly leaving the club.
So, within months of entering the building and with such a big price-tag on his head, the England international is sticking his chest out and trying to push Arsenal to the Premier League title.
