Tottenham Hotspur’s Mousa Dembele is one of the finest midfield players on the continent.

Former Tottenham manager Martin Jol spoke exclusively to Belgian media outlet Volkskrant, and raved about the quality of Mousa Dembele, claiming that he is a better player than Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal.
The Dutchman managed Dembele during his time in charge at Fulham, before selling him onto Spurs in the summer of 2012, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £15 million.

The 30-year-old has since gone on to establish himself as one of the continent’s finest box-to-box midfield players, and is now widely considered as one of the Lilywhites’ most important players.
Jol raved about the quality of Dembele, when speaking exclusively to Belgian publication Volkskrant, claiming that the midfielder is better than Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal:

“Dembélé was my best player. I wanted to take away the pressure of scoring. In England, a striker and a number 10 have to score, but Dembélé was always asked to play further back.”
He was then asked by the Belgian newspaper if there is anyone better in the role that the Belgian plays:
“Maybe Pogba or Vidal, but Mousa is better.”
The Belgium international’s numbers are surprisingly inadequate, for someone who is rated so highly.
He has chalked up just 10 goals and 11 assists in 230 appearances for Tottenham, and if he could somehow find away of being more productive in the final third, he would then surely reach the elite world-class level.
