Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael van der Vaart very much enjoyed his clashes with Arsenal during his time at White Hart Lane.
Van der Vaart classes Tottenham’s 3-3 draw with Arsenal back in 2011 as one of the most memorable games he played in a Spurs shirt.
The Dutch midfielder hit the back of the net, as Spurs came back from 3-1 down to claim a point against Arsenal.
And Van der Vaart admits that he seriously enjoyed getting one over on Wilshere, who is now playing for West Ham at the London Stadium, that day.
“I scored twice,” Van der Vaart said, when recalling the contest. “But one of the best thing was to put the ball between Jack Wilshere’s legs two times. We had so much fun these years and that was the best thing for me.”
Wilshere was a key player for Arsenal in those days, but he left to join West Ham last summer after a series of injuries.
Tottenham were playing catch up with Arsenal when Van der Vaart was at the club, but they have now overtaken their north London rivals.
Spurs look set to finish above Arsenal for the third season running this term, with Mauricio Pochettino making great progress with his side.
Tottenham are next in action this evening when they take on Ajax in the Champions League.
