Webb was head of recruitment at Spurs for two years between 2015 and 2017.

Former Tottenham Hotspur recruiter David Webb has admitted to Ostersunds FK’s website that he tried to sign Francis Jno-Baptiste from Crystal Palace in 2016 – after landing the Palace youngster for his current Swedish side.
Webb worked at Spurs for two years as the club’s head of elite recruitment, joining in May 2015 before departing two years later to take up the interesting role of director of football at Ostersunds.
The Swedish side confirmed on their official website – later reported by Sky Sports – that they had struck an agreement with Palace to lure young striker Jno-Baptiste to the Swedish club.
Webb was quoted as talking to Osterunds’ official website about the signing of Jno-Baptiste, in which he claimed he tried to sign the forward during his time at Tottenham when Baptiste was just 16 years of age.
“He’s a good character player,” Webb said. “When I was with Tottenham, we tried to sign 16-year-old Jno-Baptiste from Crystal Palace but they did not want to sell him.
“It feels great that he now chooses to come to ÖFK and play in Allsvenskan. It will be interesting to see how he will develop in our team.”

Now 19 years of age, Jno-Baptiste is yet to make his senior debut with Palace and Roy Hodgson has decided to let him leave in the January transfer window.
Baptiste boasts plenty of speed and is renowned for his ability to find the back of the net. He will link up with Osterunds manager Ian Burchnall, who replaced Graham Potter in the summer after he moved to Swansea City.
