Peter Crouch is confused why Tottenham Hotspur didn’t make a move for Callum Wilson, as per his comments in the Daily Mail.
Wilson moved to Newcastle United for £20 million this summer (Daily Mail), and Tottenham did not really rival them for the rapid forward.
Spurs were linked with Wilson at the start of the summer, but did not seem to step up their interest.
And Crouch is absolutely baffled by Tottenham didn’t consider Wilson to be a potentially excellent addition.
“Why did Tottenham let Callum Wilson sign for Newcastle,” Crouch said.
“He wouldn’t have caused the slightest bit of trouble if he wasn’t playing every week, he has got quality and would have fitted straight into the squad.”

Wilson scored on his debut for Newcastle at the weekend, and his performance really proved his quality.
The England international caused West Ham all sorts of problems, as West Ham picked up a 2-0 win.
Tottenham, meanwhile, still haven’t signed a striker this summer and the drew at blank on Sunday.
Spurs lost 1-0 to Everton, with the pressure building on Daniel Levy to find a new number nine sooner rather than later.
