The Burton Albion manager previously signed Wallace for Sheffield United.
Kieran Wallace is back in the English Football League, nearly 15 months after leaving Sheffield United.
Wallace had his contract terminated by mutual consent shortly after the Blades’ Championship return.
And the 23-year-old later signed for Matlock Town, who compete in the seventh tier of English football, but was left without a club at the end of last season.
Now Nigel Clough, the man who brought Wallace to Sheffield United from Ilkeston Town four years ago, has once again come to the aid of the Nottingham-born utility player.
Wallace had been training with Burton Albion, and has since been added to Clough’s side on a non-contract basis.
Just hours after signing, the left-sided player was named on the bench for Burton’s League Cup win against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday. Wallace had been on Forest’s books as a youngster.
The win saw the Brewers progress to the quarter-final stage – four years after Clough led Sheffield United to the semis of the same competition.
Former Blades John Brayford, Stephen Quinn and Kyle McFadzean are also employed by Burton.
