Rangers took Jason Cummings on loan to Ibrox last season.

Rangers are in Scottish League Cup semi-final action this afternoon as they take on Aberdeen – and one former player will seemingly be watching.
The Gers drew 0-0 with Spartak Moscow in the Europa League on Thursday night, and now turn their attention to Hampden Park in a bid to reach the Scottish Cup final.
One problem heading into the game is that Rangers are without the cup-tied Kyle Lafferty and suspended Alfredo Morelos, meaning Gerrard has a striker issue.
Umar Sadiq has yet to make a single start since his loan move from Roma and looks unlikely to start and Eros Grezda is still building up fitness, meaning Ryan Kent or Daniel Candeias may have to play up front.
Some may now be wishing that Rangers had made Jason Cummings’ loan move permanent over the summer, and it seems that the player himself wishes that as well.
Cummings, 23, joined Rangers on loan from Nottingham Forest in January of this year having failed to impress at the City Ground, and scored six goals in 18 games for Rangers.

The Gers chose not to make his move permanent as they brought in Lafferty and Sadiq instead, and Cummings moved on loan to League One side Peterborough United, and has hit seven goals in 15 games this term.
Ahead of today’s game, Cummings has taken to Instagram – as seen below – to post a photo of himself in a Rangers shirt from his time at Ibrox, and admitted that he would ‘do anything to be back’ with the club, leading some fans to wish that he was still a Rangers player.
With Sadiq out of favour, a third striker may well be on Gerrard’s wish list in 2019, and Cummings could be one name in the mix, especially with his desire to make the move back to Glasgow.
