Former Glasgow Rangers prospect Billy Gilmour continues to shine since leaving Ibrox.

Some Rangers fans may have feared for Billy Gilmour slightly when he decided to swap Ibrox for Chelsea last year given the Premier League side’s reputation for stockpiling talented youngsters who predominantly spend their time on the Blues’ books out on loan before being sold for a sizeable profit.
But the former Gers starlet is showing with almost every single performance he puts in that he stands a fantastic chance of being one of the players who does make the grade at Stamford Bridge.
And based on his latest display, it would appear that Gilmour’s stock has probably risen significantly once again.
Gilmour played a starring role in helping the Blues’ under-19 side to a stunning 10-1 victory in their UEFA Youth League tie with Molde on Wednesday. The former Rangers man scored a hat-trick in the win.

Despite his diminutive stature, two of the midfielder’s goals were headers, while the other was – perhaps, less surprisingly – a brilliant volley from the 17-year-old.
It is, of course, likely to be very disappointing for Rangers fans to see Gilmour performing so well given that he was on the Gers’ books before leaving for Chelsea, especially as his development appears to be going perfectly right now. But while there may be that disappointment that he has left, there always appears to be a sense of pride amongst Rangers supporters that one of the most exciting talents anywhere in Europe started out at Ibrox.
