Garner has endured a difficult start to life with Glasgow Rangers.
Charlie Miller has suggested that he has been feeling sorry for Rangers summer signing Joe Garner and urged the striker to try and emulate Kenny Miller, the Daily Record reports.
The £1.8m acquisition has so far failed to hit the heights since his arrival at Ibrox in terms of goalscoring, with just three goals coming in his first 14 appearances in all competitions for the Gers.
Rangers’ Joe Garner
Meanwhile, Miller has rolled back the years and is currently the club’s leading goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership with four strikes to his name.
And his namesake has suggested that Garner should look up to the 36-year-old, though he insisted that he has still been impressed by the former Preston North End man.
Rangers’ Kenny Miller
“Kenny has been Rangers’ best player all season. He has been excellent for the club and I hope his form continues,” he said, as reported by the Record.
“I feel a bit sorry for Garner as he gives a lot to the team. He is full of industry and effort.
“It is difficult to play that lone striker role. But Garner has a great attitude and he puts himself about a bit – at times possibly too much. I would be playing him every week but I’m not the Rangers manager.”

It is not just in terms of goals that Miller has been contributing this term. No player in Mark Warburton’s squad has contributed more assists than the three that the former Scotland international has set-up.
And if Garner can keep putting in promising performances, it may not be too long before he is really starting to bang the goals in and setting up more for his teammates.
