Rangers have landed Steven Gerrard as their new manager.

Rangers have landed Steven Gerrard as their new manager today – and former Gers midfielder Joey Barton has taken to Twitter to offer his reaction to the move.
The Gers relieved Graeme Murty of his duties as interim boss on Tuesday, 48 hours after losing 5-0 to Old Firm rivals Celtic, handing the Bhoys a seventh straight league title.
Seven months on from Pedro Caixinha’s exit, Rangers now finally have a permanent manager once again, though there is no doubting that Gerrard faces a monumental challenge.
The 37-year-old has no managerial experience at a senior level and his only coaching has come with Liverpool’s Under-18’s, yet now he steps into a tough task at Ibrox.

Rangers are aiming to stop Celtic from winning 10 league titles in a row, and there are major question marks over whether Gerrard can be the man to stop it given his lack of managerial experience.
Gerrard isn’t the only Liverpudlian to have made the move to Ibrox in recent times, as Joey Barton famously joined Rangers in 2016, but played just eight games before making an acrimonious exit.
Barton hasn’t forgotten about his former club though, as he has taken to Twitter tonight in order to react to Gerrard’s move, wishing him the best of luck whilst admitting that it won’t be easy for him, but Rangers are certainly an ‘incredible’ club.
