It’s fair to say that Daniel Arzani’s Celtic career may not have taken off, but his lack of football is certainly a talking point.

Arzani was billed as Australia’s next big hope having flourished with Melbourne City, and even featured for his country at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

The playmaker was tipped for big things, and Manchester City raided their sister club to sign Arzani, before sending him on a two-year loan to Celtic.

Now, City have had great success with other loans to Celtic in recent years; Jason Denayer and John Guidetti both showed quality and Patrick Roberts played regularly there for over two years, so City naturally trusted the Bhoys to look after Arzani.

However, the 19-year-old has yet to even make his Celtic debut, and there has been talk that he could be sent back to City early in January having struggled to impress Brendan Rodgers.

Fans have been asking questions about Arzani’s situation this week, and he featured for Australia in their 4-0 win over Kuwait on Monday.

Arzani’s lack of football was a key talking point, and with one fan complaining about Arzani’s move to Celtic, ex-Rangers captain Craig Moore stepped forward to suggest that there were no clubs offering Arzani guaranteed playing time.

Moore added that Arzani needs to fight and learn at Celtic rather than having everything given to him, and believes that it will all help him become a fantastic player in the future.
