Simon Johnson has raved about Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford on Twitter.

The former Leeds attacking midfielder has said that Bamford is very intelligent and has “great technical ability”.

Johnson made the comments following Leeds’s 1-0 win against Sheffield United away from home in the Premier League on Sunday.

Bamford scored for the Whites in the Yorkshire derby in the 88th minute to help Marcelo Bielsa’s side to all three points.

Former Leeds attacking midfielder Johnson has raved about Bamford, and so has ex-White Andy Couzens.

Important player for Leeds United

Bamford has been superb for Leeds in the Premier League so far this season and is banging in the goals for fun at the moment.

The 27-year-old striker has scored three goals and provided one assist in three Premier League games for the Whites, according to WhoScored.

The former Chelsea and Nottingham Forest striker is leading the line well for Leeds.

Leeds are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with six points from three matches.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side will return to action next weekend when they take on Manchester City at Elland Road in the league.
