Former Liverpool goalkeeper Kamil Grabara turned in a strong display as Copenhagen narrowly lost to Manchester United.

Liverpool fans who watched Manchester United’s clash with Copenhagen may have seen a rather familiar face.

The Reds are in Europa League action on Thursday, so fans will have spent their nights this week watching Champions League action.

Some will have been hoping for a shock at Old Trafford as Manchester United hosted Danish side FC Copenhagen.

Erik ten Hag’s side just about got out of jail, claiming a 1-0 win as Harry Maguire scored the only goal of the game.

There was late drama though as Andre Onana saved an injury-time penalty, sending United fans wild in the process.

Ex-Liverpool talent Kamil Grabara impresses against Manchester United

The man in the other goal didn’t have a bad night either as ex-Liverpool talent Kamil Grabara impressed.

The Reds pounced to sign goalkeeper Grabara form Ruch Chorzów in 2016 before farming him out on loan to AGF, Huddersfield Town and then AGF again.

Copenhagen were impressed with Grabara’s displays in Denmark and paid £3million to sign Grabara back in 2021.

Grabara is now shining for Copenhagen and he certainly impressed against United.

The Pole made a number of saves, including one stunning stop from Christian Eriksen, but couldn’t prevent a United win.

Grabara has earned rave reviews in Denmark, with BT rating him at five out of six stars and hailing a ‘miracle’ save to deny Eriksen.

Ekstrabladet went with four out of six stars, praising a ‘monster’ save against Eriksen whilst remarking that his save was ‘just class’.

Grabara already has big 2024 transfer lined up

Premier League clubs may well have been impressed with Grabara last night, but they have already missed out.

That’s because Bundesliga club Wolfsburg have already agreed to pay £11.5million to sign Grabara next summer.

Wolfsburg pounced to land Grabara just days after the European transfer deadline, seemingly believing that they couldn’t risk waiting.

Grabara is moving for nearly four times what Liverpool sold him for and, based on Wednesday’s display, he might just be value for money.
