The 41-year-old German made his positive remark regarding United’s future during the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on Sunday.
United were superb against their city rivals Manchester City in the first half, leaving Hamann singing their praises.
Louis van Gaal’s side went on to win the Premier League clash 4-2 and maintained their chances of finishing second in the table this season.
United have not been playing well for much of the season, but in recent weeks they have turned on the style.
The Red Devils’ 3-0 hammering of Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford last month was the ‘turning point’ in regard to playing well.
Since then, United have defeated Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield, destroyed Aston Villa 3-1 at Old Trafford and humiliated City 4-2 at home.
It has taken Van Gaal months to have his team play the kind of football that one expects of United, but perhaps he has finally found the ‘magic formula’.
