Liverpool are set to be without Philippe Coutinho for an extended period, after he suffered an ankle injury at the weekend.
Speaking live on Sky Sports Now at 10:27 am on November 28th, former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp offered his opinion on which Reds star will fill in for Philippe Coutinho, during the Brazilian’s expected absence.
Jürgen Klopp will be anxious to find out the results of the 24-year-old’s scan on his ankle today, as he faces the prospect of losing arguably his best player for a sustained period of time.

And Redknapp, who made 311 appearances for the Merseysiders during an 11-year spell with the club, told Sky Sports Now who he expects to deputise for Coutinho, when asked if now is Daniel Sturridge’s chance to shine:
“It is, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Jürgen Klopp was to go with Origi. He scored on Saturday, and had a big impact in the game. I think he likes him. Daniel Sturridge has got tremendous ability, we all know that, but the work ethic that Jürgen Klopp wants from his team – I’m not sure he possesses it. I like Daniel Sturridge, I think he’s got amazing ability, but is he a Jürgen Klopp type of player? I’m not sure.”

The 27-year-old England international’s future at Anfield has been the subject of intense speculation over the past month or so, with numerous Premier League clubs being linked with a move for the Liverpool striker (the Sun).
If Coutinho is indeed ruled out for an extended period, as expected, and Sturridge it still not given an opportunity to prove his worth to the club, serious questions will have to be asked pertaining to his future at Liverpool.
