Mario Balotelli has hit the ground running in France and has already surpassed his goal tally with the Reds.
Mario Balotelli has been in scintillating form.
Italian striker Mario Balotelli has continued on his fine-run of form with new club, Nice netting his fifth goal in four games within only 19 days in the Europa League on Thursday.
It is a striking statistic considering that as it took Super Mario 173 days or 28 appearance to notch only four goals for Liverpool during his tenure in 2014/2015, following a £16 million summer move from AC Milan (the Telegraph).
The talisman is enjoying a resurgence which has seen him score two braces in two separate Ligue 1 fixtures, having only scored against Ludogorets, Besiktas, Spurs and Swansea in 28 matches with Liverpool.
Mario Balotelli at Liverpool
The former Premier League forward has been in scintillating form since arriving in France and continued his purple patch on Thursday evening against FK Krasnodar in the Europa League. Balotelli placed a superb curling effort past FK Krasnodar’s outstretched goalkeeper, though the strike halved Nice’s deficit it was not enough to spur them onto victory and the French outfit eventually lost 5-2.
If only the 26-year-old had displayed this kind of form at Anfield, maybe all involved would have better memories of his Liverpool stay.
