Rangers should be in the market for another striker this summer.

Rangers added more attacking ammunition on Sunday as they tied up the loan signing of Liverpool winger Ryan Kent for the season, but Steven Gerrard may still want more.
Of Gerrard’s other nine signings, only two – Jamie Murphy and Umar Sadiq – are expected to feature in the final third, and it’s clear that Rangers are still lacking a goalscorer.
Two unconvincing attacking displays against Macedonian side FK Shkupi have shown that Rangers are still lacking one more striker, and Gerrard may move for one before the transfer deadline.
Alfredo Morelos continues to be inconsistent, whilst it’s unclear what Sadiq will bring after a patchy start to his career in front of goal, and Rangers should consider another option, with Dinamo Zagreb’s Armin Hodzic ticking boxes.
Hodzic, 23, has been prolific in Croatia with Dinamo, hitting 49 goals in 108 games, whilst showing that he is a well-rounded striker with enough skill, pace, guile and physicality to make a big move elsewhere.
The Bosnian international would fit the bill for Rangers for all of those reasons, but also partly because director of football Mark Allen did tell the club’s official YouTube channel earlier this month that he is looking to shop in Croatia again having signed defender Nikola Katic this summer.

Additionally, Hodzic was on the books at Liverpool at the same time as Gers boss Gerrard, and whilst the striker was in the youth ranks during his three-year stint at Anfield, Gerrard may still be familiar with the talent Hodzic possesses.
As a deal for Millwall’s Jake Cooper now looks unlikely, Rangers should be looking to use the funds on another striker to beef up Gerrard’s options – and Hodzic should be one name on the radar of both Gerrard and Allen.
