Leeds United could meet Huddersfield Town in the play-offs.

Former Whites striker Noel Whelan explained how yesterday’s point at Fulham was actually a good result, when speaking to BBC Sport, suggesting that Huddersfield will be playing a dangerous game by underestimating Garry Monk’s men, with the two sides still on course to meet in the Championship play-offs.
Leeds were unlucky to leave West London with just one point, rather than all three last night, whilst the Terriers continued their fine run of form with a 1-0 win at home to a resurgent Aston Villa side.
And if things stayed as they are now, the two Yorkshire sides could meet each other in the play-off final, should they navigate their way successfully through their respective semi-final ties.
And Whelan, who made 59 appearances for the Whites during a two-and-a-half year spell with the club, warned David Wagner’s men that underestimating Leeds will be a perilous attitude to take into a potential play-off meeting, as quoted by BBC Sport:

“If it is, it is. I think the most dangerous thing Town can do is underestimate Leeds – there’s more to this Leeds side than they’ve shown in the games against Huddersfield, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they pulled something out the bag that day. We’re unbeaten and picking up points – and moving away, staying in the play offs. It’s about maintaining that, and it will be a good point if Leeds now beat QPR.”
With nine points separating Leeds and second placed Brighton and Hove Albion, and an eight point advantage over seventh placed Fulham, a place side the play-offs for Garry Monk’s men looks highly likely.
Huddersfield, however, will genuinely believe that they can force their way inside the automatic promotion spots, with just six points separating them and Brighton in second, with a game in hand on the Seagulls.
