Charlie Nicholas has raved about Newcastle United winger and reported Arsenal target Allan Saint-Maximin on Skysports.com.

The former Arsenal forward has said that he enjoys watching the Newcastle winger play.

According to Le10 Sport this month, the Gunners are interested in signing the 23-year-old Frenchman in the summer transfer window.

Nicholas made the comments about Saint-Maximin while looking ahead to the Premier League game between Watford and Newcastle this weekend.

Nicholas wrote on Skysports.com: “Newcastle can be a burden. They do not need to sit in and force the play.

“Allan Saint-Maximin should be fit – I enjoy watching him and he really is such a handful. He loves getting on the ball and going at defenders. They will cause problems.”

Stats

According to WhoScored, Saint-Maximin has made 19 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle so far this season, scoring three goals and providing four assists in the process.

Good signing for Arsenal?

Saint-Maximin is a very good winger, and one can understand why Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta reportedly wants the Newcastle star at the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Although the Gunners have a good attacking unit, a player of the Frenchman’s quality, creativity, pace and energy will make the North London outfit a better team next season and beyond.

However, Newcastle may not be willing to part company with one of their best players this summer.
