Italian side Como 1907 have confirmed on their official website the signing of former Everton youngster Matty Foulds on a two-year contract.
Foulds, a two-time Premier League 2 winner with Everton’s U23s, was released by the Toffees in the summer having spent four years at Goodison Park.
The 22-year-old failed to break through to the first-team, while manager Carlo Ancelotti added to his side’s defence with the arrival of Ben Godfrey from Norwich City.

Foulds has an impressive CV at youth level. Aside from winning the Premier League 2, he also excelled for Everton in the EFL Trophy.
But now he makes a surprise switch to Italy, joining Como 1907.
“For me it is really a great and stimulating opportunity. I am very happy to be part of this group and having to deal with a new reality and a different football is really intriguing. I am ready to give my contribution,” Foulds explained.
Foulds joins a Como side who have turned their eye to the English market.
The third division side also signed former Derby County and Queens Park Rangers youngster Lewis Walker following his release from the West London club.
Como, despite playing in the third tier of Italian football, are by no means minnows. They play at a 13,000-capacity stadium and featured in Serie A at the beginning of the millennium.

The Lombardy club have twice been refounded, once in 2005 and then in 2017.
Foulds will be hoping for a fresh start following his release from Everton and he can look back on his experience at Goodison Park with a positive frame of mind.
