After a shaky start in the Championship this season Aston Villa have begun to turn things around with a seven-game unbeaten run and three successive victories.

They are now in eighth position and starting to show the form that saw them among the favourites for promotion and here are three of their players who are definitely able to play in the Premier League.

Admittedly not a Villa player as the goalkeeper is on loan from Manchester United, Johnstone may be unlikely to get a game for the Red Devils any time soon but Steve Bruce still did very well to re-sign him this term.

The 24-year-old has played every league game so far in 2017/18, helping the Birmingham outfit to four clean-sheets in their last five matches.

Has recently returned to the starting XI after recovering from a broken ankle and his influence in attack has been immediately felt, despite the fact Kodjia himself is yet to score this campaign.

The 27-year-old top-scored in 2016/17, though, with 19 league goals – which was probably why Everton and Stoke City were linked with the Ivory Coast international by the Birmingham Mail.

John Terry

Having played 492 times in the English top flight and winning the title five times, it should seem fairly obvious that Terry is good enough to play there.

However, at 36-years-old and after a tricky start to life at Villa Park there were doubts about whether the centre-back was beyond his best and while not at the level he was at his peak at Chelsea, the captain could certainly still be performing in the top flight.
