Former Everton player Kevin Kilbane has showered Seamus Coleman with praise following the Toffees’ 5-2 win over West Brom on Saturday.
The 43-year-old, who made 120 appearances for the Merseysiders, wrote the following on Twitter above a photo of the full-back:
‘Started the season in great form. Defensive positioning improving every season and looks as fit as ever. Top class.’
The 56-capped Republic of Ireland international has just begun his 11th campaign at Goodison Park, having famously arrived from Sligo Rovers for just £60,000 in 2009.
Despite an influx of new arrivals such as James Rodriguez, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan, Carlo Ancelotti has decided to stick with Coleman rather than sign a new right-back and is being duly rewarded.
The 31-year-old has helped Everton to wins over Tottenham and West Brom in their first two Premier League games, leaving them second in the table.

Kilbane – who made 111 appearances for the Republic of Ireland himself – knows what is demanded of an Everton full-back.
He appeared mostly as a left-back at Goodison Park following a move from Sunderland and, if a former player of his experience has words of praise for Coleman, they should be listened to.
Everton’s No.23 has enjoyed an excellent turnaround since suffering a gruesome leg break while playing against Wales in 2017.

It cost him a lengthy chunk of his career – Transfermarkt state that he missed a total of 292 days as a result of Neil Taylor’s challenge.
Thankfully, the Everton cult hero has managed to put such a worrying moment behind him. As Kilbane says: Coleman truly is looking good.
