Ex-Everton academy star Kieran Phillips has posted on social media after continuing his incredible goalscoring run for Huddersfield Town’s B team.
The 20-year-old swapped Merseyside for West Yorkshire this summer, and he’s quickly shown the Toffees that they made the wrong decision in letting him go.
It was something of a surprise to see that he had left Everton this summer after starring for their U18s, bagging 12 goals in 11 U18 Premier League games according to transfermarkt.
However, the Toffees allowed him to join Huddersfield, and he’s gone from strength to strength since joining the Terriers.

Now, we’re not going to say that he’s better than Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison, but Everton could have missed out on a real asset here.
His most recent brace was only against Gainsborough Trinity, but you’ve got to be a half-decent player to score seven goals in three games at any level.
Phillips is still waiting on his senior debut, but if he keeps scoring at such a rate, he may well force Carlos Corberan’s hand in the coming weeks.
It will certainly be interesting to track his development in the coming years, and if he carries on scoring goals, Everton may end up with egg on their faces for letting him go at such a young age.
