Celtic and Aston Villa duked it out for John McGinn last summer.

One-time Celtic target John McGinn will land his former club a ‘huge windfall’ if Aston Villa are promoted to the Premier League.
McGinn is set to start Aston Villa’s playoff final with Derby County at Wembley on Monday.
The game could be worth £170 million to the Villans if Dean Smith’s side go up, and the Scottish midfielder, heavily linked with Celtic last summer, won’t be regretting his botched Parkhead move.
According to The Scottish Sun, Hibernian will receive a cut of their mega Premier League Jackpot if the Villans reach the top flight by beating Frank Lampard’s side.
Last summer, Celtic tried and failed to bring the 24-year-old to Glasgow but, after three failed bids by Brendan Rodgers, Aston Villa swooped in and that was that.
He only went for £3 million [The Scottish Sun] and it looks like the Hibees could see a lot more coming their way if Villa go up.
McGinn has been a pillar for them this season and it’s been obvious since very early on that Rodgers – who quit the Bhoys in February – missed out on a fantastic player.
