Southampton’s Stuart Armstrong starred in their pre-season win today, following his move from Celtic earlier this summer.

Southampton supporters have praised Stuart Armstrong’s performance in their latest friendly against Jiangsu Suning.
Southampton only recently signed Armstrong from Celtic, but he has wasted no time making an impression at his new club.
The Scottish midfielder set up Southampton’s first goal of the contest today, as he clipped in a wonderful pass which Manolo Gabbiadini scored from.
And Southampton supporters have been quick to praise the impact that the Celtic man has had.
Armstrong was a key player during his time with Celtic, but seemingly was keen to test himself in the Premier League.
The Bhoys were unable to tie down Armstrong to a new contract, which meant that they were not in a position of power during negotiations with Southampton.

The Saints have had great success with buying from Celtic before, with both Victor Wanyama and Virgil Van Dijk starting their careers in England on the south coast before moving on to bigger things.
Celtic are yet to sign a replacement for Armstrong yet, with Brendan Rodgers still seemingly assessing his options.
