Ex-Celtic winger Derk Boerrigter is in talks over a move to Roda JC – six months after his Parkhead contract was terminated, the Scottish Sun reports.

Boerrigter arrived in Glasgow from Dutch giants Ajax in 2013 amid much excitement.

However the 29-year-old, for whom the Bhoys are said to have paid £3 million, played just 514 minutes of first team football – of which 482 came in his maiden season at the club.

Boerrigter was finally put out of his misery in April this year, but remains in unemployment.

That however could be about to change, according to the Scottish Sun, which claims interest from Kerkrade side Roda.

The Eredivisie outfit, who currently employ Wales international Simon Church, are currently rock bottom of the table with no wins from their eight league matches so far.

They will hope that Boerrigter can rediscover some of his previous form back in his homeland, where he impressed for both RKC Waalwijk and Ajax, leading to an international call-up in November 2011.

In total, Boerrigter played 26 times for Celtic, scoring once and providing two assists.
