The teenager has left Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers on loan – and a former Celtic player helped to facilitate it, according to a report.
A former Celtic player has reportedly played a huge role in the latest transfer to happen at Rangers.
Auchenhowie gem Josh McPake left the Gers to join Championship side Dundee on a season-long loan yesterday.
And interestingly, a one-time Celtic star was ‘instrumental’ in McPake’s Rangers departure, according to a report.
The Scotsman claims that Darren O’Dea, who officially left the Hoops in 2012, played a starring role in the switch.
The report doesn’t elaborate on how, but the Irish centre-back was at Dens Park last season and is a former team-mate for Stephen Pearson, who represents the Rangers winger.
O’Dea spent much of his senior career at Parkhead and won two Premiership titles with the Scottish giants.
Leaving Rangers in the short term is the smart move for McPake.
He’s way too good for development football, but nowhere near good enough for Steven Gerrard’s first XI at the moment.
A spell in the Championship, playing senior football every week, will do him the world of good and it’s fascinating to see how much better he is in a year.
