Dembele has enjoyed a brilliant start to life with Celtic.

Former Celtic attacker Joe Miller has suggested that the best decision that Moussa Dembele can make for his career is to stay with the Hoops for the next few years, the Daily Record reports.

The 20-year-old has undoubtedly been one of the surprises of the season for Brendan Rodgers’ side. At the start of the campaign, the idea of Leigh Griffiths being anything other than the Bhoys’ talisman would have been unthinkable.

However, the Frenchman has been sensational. He has scored 16 times in 25 games to help Celtic sit well clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership and go into their final two Champions League group games still with a slim chance of extending their European journey beyond Christmas.

Unsurprisingly, his form has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs. The Daily Record reported last month that Manchester United were scouting him, so it would hardly be a surprise if other clubs were also monitoring his progress.

But Miller believes that Dembele should ignore all the speculation for the time-being and just concentrate on playing for Celtic.

“This is a great platform for Dembele. Celtic are developing under a young manager and it’s going to be exciting for the next few years,” he said, as reported by the Record.

“Sometimes you can leave too early. You can go to a bigger league for bigger money and what you think is a bigger club.

“But it doesn’t always work out. That would be my warning to him.

“You see some young players going for more money to a league that’s too big for them. He’s only 20. He still has a lot to learn. He should stay at Celtic for a few years and pick up experience.”

By staying at Celtic, Dembele is surely likely to enjoy much more first-team football than if he moves elsewhere. And with the Hoops on top in most of the games they play, staying at Parkhead will surely give the youngster the amount of opportunities that will allow him to really learn his craft.
