Martin O’Neill has told The Scottish Sun that, despite Rangers’ win over Celtic on Saturday, he’s still backing the Bhoys to win the title.

Rangers went to Parkhead on Saturday afternoon and came away with a 2-0 win, as Connor Goldson bagged an unlikely brace to seal the win.

Steven Gerrard’s men were superior throughout, as their interplay in the final third was impressive to watch in their comfortable victory.

Celtic were flat an uninspired, failing to muster a single shot on target in a pretty dismal display – and it’s not the first time that’s happened under Neil Lennon.

Rangers have now won two games in a row against Celtic, and with Lennon’s continued struggles in Europe also concerning fans, some are worried that the Bhoys will come up short this season.

Celtic are going for a tenth league title in a row, but are now four points behind Rangers and looked poor in comparison to their Old Firm rivals on Saturday.

They were though missing a host of key players, and ex-Celtic boss O’Neill – who coached Lennon at Parkhead – has admitted that he still thinks the Bhoys will win the title.

O’Neill claims that Celtic are still better than Rangers at their best, so believes they will be crowned champions again and reach a historic tenth title in a row, showing his support for Lennon and the Bhoys.

“Do I think Celtic will win the league? At their strongest, they are still better than Rangers, so I believe they will do it,” said O’Neill.
