Windass, the former Rangers, forward was allowed to leave Ibrox by Steven Gerrard earlier this summer.

Two ex-Celtic and Rangers players have clashed on Twitter ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm over the current Bhoys defender, Dedryck Boyata.
It began when Josh Windass – who left Rangers for Wigan Athletic earlier this summer after two years at Ibrox – called out a section of the Celtic fanbase for claiming that Boyata was “not fit to wear the shirt” over the Belgian’s perceived behaviour away from the pitch.

“He was worth 50 million 6 week ago ?”, Windass commented via the social media website.
And that prompted Amido Balde – who was very briefly a teammate of Boyata at Celtic in 2015 – to post the following response:
But Windass appears to have had the final word, replying [in reference to the former Celtic defender, and Balde’s namesake, Dianbobo]:
Amido Balde – who now plays for the Albanian runners-up, Kukesi – won the title in his only full season in Celtic’s first team, a feat Windass failed to achieve in his two at Rangers.
Individually, however, the former Ibrox forward comes out well on top – scoring or assisting 32 goals in 73 games, compared to Balde’s four in 24.
