Sutton played with Larsson at Celtic, and Newcastle United legend Shearer at Blackburn.

Former Celtic and Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton has declared which of his strike partners was better; Henrik Larsson or Alan Shearer?
Sutton enjoyed arguably his best spells as a professional alongside the pair – winning the English Premier League with Blackburn and Scottish Premier League on four occasions with Celtic.

Both Larsson, who moved to Barcelona and Manchester United post-Celtic, and Shearer, who signed for his beloved Newcastle United, enjoyed prolific careers in front of goal – scoring more than 800 club career goals between them.
But when asked to compare the two during a Twitter Q & A session ahead of Celtic’s Champions League defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday, Sutton went with the Swede.
“Both great but Larsson had the better all round game,” the 43-year-old wrote.
Shearer famously chose Newcastle over Manchester United on leaving Blackburn in 1996, but went on to achieve hero status back in his hometown – despite his failure to add to that Ewood Park success in terms of trophies.

And, earlier this year, the 46-year-old had a statue erected outside of Newcastle’s St. James’ Park ground.
Despite being in his 33rd year at the time of his Celtic departure, Larsson went on to pay a pivotal role in Barca’s 2006 Champions League success and also won two La Liga titles.
