It may upset some AFC Bournemouth supporters but former Cherrie Matt Ritchie tips former boss to manage at the highest level.
Matt Ritchie has told talkSPORT it is only a matter of time before Eddie Howe is managing one of the big boys.
Ritchie played under Howe during his time on the South Coast where he gained promotion and helped Bournemouth avoid relegation last season.
Howe has had two stints at the club and in his second he has guided the club from League Two to the Premier League.
Arsenal are reportedly eyeing Howe as Arsene Wenger is coming into his final year under his current contract, and many have tipped the Cherries manager to be the Frenchman’s successor.
Ritchie, who spent three-and-a-half seasons at the club, feels it is only a matter of time before he is given an opportunity at one of the top clubs in the league.
Speaking on Talksport’s Alan Sports Breakfast, the Scotland international said: “You go out on the pitch with a clear game plan every single game – whether it’s in the cup or league.
“Every game is prepared for with 100 per cent detail.
“Bournemouth fans will hate me for saying it, but he will manage at the top of the game for sure.”
Bournemouth started the campaign with two defeats at the hands of Manchester United and West Ham United, but their fortunes have improved with two wins on the spin to change the mood at the Vitality Stadium.
