Clinton Morrison believes his time at Birmingham has shown him why Steve Bruce will guide Aston Villa to success.

Former Birmingham City striker Clinton Morrison is convinced Steve Bruce will turn around Aston Villa’s fortunes around because of what he saw during their time spent together at St Andrew’s.
Morrison played under Bruce for the Blues for three years between 2002 and 2005 when the club were in the Premier League and now believes he can bring similar success to their rivals.

“I worked with him at Birmingham and he’s one of the best managers I had, if not the best manager I had,” the 38-year-old said while working as a pundit for Channel 5 on The Championship programme.
“He’ll be the one to turn Villa around and I think this season they’ll go on to do good things under him.”

Morrison was speaking after the Villans had won their second successive Championship match, beating Nottingham Forest 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Albert Adomah and Conor Hourihane.
It was the Midlands club’s sixth game unbeaten in the second tier of English football and moved them up to ninth in the table as they continue to turn their form around.
Bruce was under pressure before the 3-0 victory at Barnsley on September 16 having only won one of the first seven league games and was quoted by Sky Sports hitting out at what he described as “mass hysteria”.
The 56-year-old has certainly backed that up with results now, with a maximum six points from their last two outings to leave themselves just two points off the playoffs.
