Bojan Krkic of Stoke City says Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero are his picks for best strikers this season, ahead of Chelsea’s Diego Costa.

The injured forward, formerly of Barcelona, was asked by The Mail to name his team of the season, and admits that before he moved to England last summer, Kane was an unknown to him.

Krkic explained he feels Aguero is the best all round forward in the league, and chose Tottenham breakthrough star Kane for the remaining spot up front in his XI.

He said: “His goalscoring record is great and Chelsea have improved with him. However, I didn’t know too much about Harry Kane before this season but he has been amazing. He scores every week! It is great to see an English player doing so well and it has been one of the season’s great stories.”

Krkic’s comments are just an example of the high regard Kane is held in by his peers, despite this being his first season where he has been given a run of games at Spurs.

It is this kind of praise which makes the Tottenham and England star a viable contender for the PFA Player of the Season award.

Both Costa and Kane are at the top of the Premier League golden boot rankings on 19 goals each, heading into the final fixtures of the season, with City ace Aguero two behind.
