Kieran Richardson has been a free agent since leaving Villa Park in the summer, but could now be set for a move to Cardiff City after training with the Welsh club.
Kieran Richardson has been looking for a club ever since his departure from Aston Villa in the summer as the 31-year-old continues to try and make a name for himself.
After a positive start to his career over a decade ago, which included being called up to the England squad, Richardson has not been able to maintain that quality at the top level. As reported by BBC Sport, it seems as if Cardiff City will be his next destination as he has been recently training with the club.
A decision on whether or not he will land himself a contract with the Bluebirds is expected to be made imminently, with the former Manchester United player’s fate being in the hands of new manager Neil Warnock.
Aston Villa’s Kieran Richardson
“I’ve had Kieran down this week. But it is a matter of chatting to him and seeing what the situation is,” the Cardiff City first team manager is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
“I would like to take him on board. We’ll probably make a decision today. We’ll have a full session with him today and I said I’d have a chat with him after training.”
Warnock would prefer for a final decision to be made in time for Cardiff’s crunch derby game against Bristol City, as the 67-year-old attempts to get his latest managerial stint off to a winning start.
