Arsenal have a number of homegrown prospects in their first team setup, but they have also lost many exciting talents in recent times.

Eddie Nketiah, Bukayo Saka and Joe Willock are all around Mikel Arteta’s first team, but seeing Ismael Bennacer, Serge Gnabry and Donyell Malen are thriving elsewhere.

There could be another major regret now, as Yunus Musah is making a real name for himself over in Spain with Valencia.

Musah, 17, joined Arsenal back in 2012, picking up England youth caps throughout his time at the club before leaving in 2019.

The teenager scored once in 17 games for Valencia’s B team last season, and has now made the step up to first-team level, playing mostly as a right-sided winger.

On Sunday, Musah featured in the 2-2 draw with Getafe, and scored his first senior goal as he raced clear to slot home a fine solo goal.

Musah made history with his goal, becoming Valencia’s youngest goalscorer this century whilst also becoming the youngest ever Engilshman to score in La Liga.

What will really sting for Arsenal is that Musah is now earning huge comparisons, with Catalan newspaper Sport likening him to Barcelona wonderkid Ansu Fati.

Add in that Spanish journalist Tomas Roncero tweeted that Musah’s goal reminded him of Kylian Mbappe bursting onto the scene with Monaco.

If Musah continues on the trajectory of Mbappe or even Fati, then Arsenal will certainly regret losing him – and may do already after his superb goal on Sunday.
