Arsenal have been busy in the summer transfer window but the sale of Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham could prove to be a key mistake.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal decided to allow Emile Smith Rowe to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer due to the Englishman not being given the game time he desired.

Smith Rowe is one of the few academy players who has been brought through under Arteta but the Englishman has now taken the plunge and departed North London to pastures new.

Fulham agreed a deal with Arsenal for Smith Rowe last week and the Englishman completed his move to Craven Cottage towards the end of last week.

Emile Smith Rowe makes immediate impact for Fulham

Smith Rowe has already made an immediate impact for the Cottagers with the Englishman scoring a brilliant diving head against Sevilla during a 2-1 defeat.

During the game against the Spanish giants, Smith Rowe played with a freedom not very often seen at the Emirates Stadium in recent seasons and a move to Fulham could be exactly what he needs.

With the attacking talent that Fulham possess, including former teammate Alex Iwobi, Smith Rowe could shine under Marco Silva.

Smith Rowe could even follow in the path of Andreas Pereira, with the Brazilian midfielder departing Manchester United and admitting in an interview last week that it was the best decision of his career.

Pereira has since gone on to break into the Brazil national team since moving to Fulham and Smith Rowe will be hoping to match that feat.

Smith Rowe hoping to break into England squad

It’s been a tough time on the international stage for Smith Rowe who has failed to add to his three caps at international level for England.

Like Pereira, Smith Rowe will be hoping that a change of scenery can help his chances of breaking into the Three Lions setup.

HITC had reported that Smith Rowe departed Arsenal for Fulham with the hope of breaking into the Three Lions setup and if he can continue his pre-season form into the Premier League, then he could be finding his way back into the international squad.
