Patrice Evra got off to a winning start with Juventus as they thrashed an Indonesian Super League all-stars team 8-1 and the defender already feels at home.

Juventus eased to victory over a team of Indonesian Super League players in Jakarta and new boy Patrice Evra explained what it meant to him to wear the Bianconeri jersey.

The Italian champions have a new boss in Massimiliano Allegri and the ex-AC Milan man’s first outings were somewhat disappointing.

The Turin giants were humbled by amateur side Lucento and then contested a 0-0 stalemate with newly promoted Cesena.

But Evra’s first game since his move from Manchester United was a more positive score line, a thumping 8-1 win.

Juventus went behind early on but Fernando Llorente scored a hat-trick within the opening half hour as the Old Lady ran riot.

After the game Evra discussed his emotional start to life with Juventus.

“I honestly didn’t expect it, I thought that it only happened with Manchester United,” the French international said in his post-match press conference.

“But this is exactly why I chose Juventus because they are a great club just like United and playing for them brings such emotions.

“I am very happy and I want to thank my teammates, the physio, everyone.

“I have had such a warm welcome and I already feel like part of the family. The result didn’t matter today but it is always nice to win and to get a lot of goals.

“We are working hard and taking things seriously, but what matters is being ready for August 30.”
