Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has explained how people inside Tottenham Hotspur expect the remainder of the January transfer window to go.

Spurs were expected to be rather busy this month, with reports that Jose Mourinho wanted a centre-back, but we’re now halfway through the window, and nothing seems to be moving forwards.

Unfortunately, it seems as though there is a pessimistic view from within the club, with Gold’s sources claiming that they only expect there to be outgoing loans this month.

“This is where people begin to get very angry with me, but everything I’m hearing is that inside the club, they’re expecting just really outgoing loans, they’re not really expecting incomings,” Gold said.

“The only way that could change is if they suddenly sold a player, but the problem with that is nobody is queuing up to buy Spurs’ non-essential players, they’re just not, the market’s not there.”

It seems as though the entirety of the transfer window hinges on making a sale, and as Gold says that looks unlikely at the moment.

Of course, Dele Alli reportedly wants to leave the club, so that’s an avenue that could be explored, but Daniel Levy has apparently blocked his departure.

What happens between now and the end of the month remains to be seen at Tottenham, but it seems as though it’s going to be a disappointing window for the north London outfit.

However, as ever in football, anything can change at any moment, so we can’t write off the idea of Spurs being active this month.
