Speaking on the Soccer AM and Sky Sports Football YouTube channels, Luke Ayling has been waxing-lyrical about Leeds United star Raphinha.
The full-back was talking about the Brazilian’s performances in training, and he claims that he could tell he was a quality player from the first day he came to the club.
“Yeah, he’s always trying skills in training and stuff and he’s such a skilful player, and he gets away from players, he worms his way out of things. The boy is quality, and you could see it from the first day he came in.” Ayling said.
“Yeah, you know with the sound of the ball and everything he does, you could tell he’s a player.”
The right-back then said that Raphinha is always trying to nutmeg players during training sessions.
“Just walking between drills and stuff he’s just popping the ball through your legs and he’s off laughing and in keep-ball he’s putting the ball through your legs, he’s always messing about and trying to do it,” Ayling claimed.
Ayling isn’t wrong about Raphinha being a quality player.
The Brazilian has earned all sorts of plaudits for his performances on the pitch this season, so it’s no surprise to hear that he’s unbelievable in training.
We can’t even begin to imagine the types of tricks Raphinha tries to pull off at Thorp Arch after seeing some of his audacious skills against top opposition this season.
Fingers crossed he’s back from injury sooner rather than later.
