Joleon Lescott told Kings of the Premier League on Sky Sports that Tottenham forward Heung-Min Son is ‘everyone’s favourite player’.

The former centre-back also pointed out that Son, who was purchased for £22 million in 2015 [Mirror], has ‘upped his game to another level’ during this Premier League campaign.

When mentioning Son, it seems as though you have to also talk about his partner in crime in Harry Kane, who has picked out his Spurs teammate at will this season and the South Korean in return has been as efficient and ruthless as ever.

Lescott was picking the best Premier League players for the month of October and when he came to picking his forwards, he had no hesitation in putting Son on the left.

“Last season the goal he scored against Burnley when he ran from the edge of his box, not many players can do that,” said Lescott.

“I think Jose Mourinho is talking about him being world-class. He definitely has to be considered world-class now.

“He’s probably everyone’s favourite player. You cannot dislike him. He plays with a smile on his face. He enjoys what he’s doing.

“Son has definitely upped his game to another level this season. He’s probably the most balanced forward from the names on the list (Harry Kane, Mo Salah, Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings, Raul Jimenez, Wilfried Zaha, Callum Wilson & Jamie Vardy). He scored with his left foot, right foot and headers. He contributes in all areas and tracks back.”

At this moment in time, both Kane and Son are perhaps two of the most feared forwards in England’s top-flight.

Whilst modern football has gone down a road of talking obsessively about front three’s, those in North London have brought back an old school mix in regards to being talked about as a front two, but with a modern twist.

They cause as much damage as a top-quality front three would and it has to be questioned what type of impact Gareth Bale will have on them when he gets warmed up and joins the party.
