Glasgow Rangers moved themselves up to second in the Scottish Premiership with an impressive win at Ibrox.

Ross McCrorie, Josh Windass and Declan John are among the Rangers players to take to Twitter to comment after the Gers marked the resumption of their season by sealing a win that moves them back to second in the Scottish Premiership.

Unlike many of their top flight rivals, Rangers went into the midweek round of games still awaiting their first competitive fixture of 2018 after their Scottish Cup tie with Fraserburgh was postponed at the weekend.

But Graeme Murty’s side showed little sign of rust as they secured the three points against Aberdeen to leap above the Dons and into second in the top flight.

Goals from Alfredo Morelos and James Tavernier saw the Light Blues claim an important 2-0 victory that moves them to within 11 points of Celtic at the top of the division.

Declan John of Rangers has a fine header pushed away by the Motherwell keeper during the Betfred Cup Semi Final at Hampden Park on October 22, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

And after the game, a handful of Rangers players took to social media to comment on the result. Among them was McCrorie, who had to sit out the fixture due to injury, but he was full of praise for his teammates.

Meanwhile, John praised the Gers supporters and Windass expressed his hope that Aberdeen goalkeeper Joe Lewis – who had to be stretched off in the latter stages – will get better soon, and suggested that there are still improvements to be made.
