Even when he’s physically unable to help Liverpool, Harvey Elliott remains as committed to the cause as ever.
Elliott is only back from a long-term ankle injury after dislocating the joint in a horror injury at Leeds United in September.
The 18-year-old was proving himself in Liverpool’s starting lineup at the time, meaning that his absence came at a horrible time for him and the Reds.
It would’ve been a devastating blow for the former Fulham prospect – who joined the Anfield outfit in 2019 – but Andy Robertson has revealed just how committed he was to still be part of things at Kirkby.
The Scottish left-back has told The Echo that even one day after his ankle surgery, Elliott was determined to support his Liverpool teammates in person by attending a game.
He said: “After he had his operation everyone had to tell him to calm down a little. I think he wanted to go to the next game which was a day after his operation, and we were saying ‘Harvey, there’s time for that’.
“But since then he has worked so hard to get back on the pitch. He has been so focused and determined to get back as quickly as possible.”
Attitude
Brilliant attitudes are rife within Liverpool.
And it’s probably because that’s precisely what manager Jurgen Klopp demands from his players.
So it bodes extremely well that Elliott is already demonstrating that he’s up to par with regards to off-the-pitch mentality.
This is an absolute gem of a footballer and it must be refreshing for Liverpool supporters to know that he’s completely invested in becoming the best player he can possibly be.
Klopp’s side are away to Burnley this afternoon and although Elliott might not make the first XI, it’s a certainty that he’ll be included in the travelling squad.
