Michael Beale has admitted that Celtic are playing at a “higher level” than Rangers at the moment ahead of Monday night’s Old Firm clash – after both Celtic and Rangers recorded impressive wins on Wednesday, with clean sheets.
Rangers cruised to a 3-0 win over struggling Motherwell thanks to goals from Alfredo Morelos, Connor Goldson and Malik Tillman. Aaron Mooy got two, while Japanese duo Daizen Maeda and Kyogo scored in a 4-0 win over Hibs.
Celtic have now won seven games in a row under Ange Postecoglou and remain nine points clear at the top of the Premiership. But Rangers have won all four of Beale’s four matches in charge – ahead of Monday’s clash at Ibrox.
Injured players are starting to return and with every game, Beale is improving his newly-inherited side. So, Rangers will be confident of getting a result against Celtic at Ibrox. Beale compared the two sides, as per BBC Sport.
“They’re playing at a higher level than us. Everybody can see that. This time last year we were six points in front of them so things can turn around with time, with good recruitment, with good training, with a feel-good factor.”

Beale admits Celtic playing at a higher level than Rangers
Celtic look as though they are a steam train and nothing is going to stop them. Winning games without really getting out of third gear. Goals coming from everywhere, Australia’s Mooy getting a brace for the Hoops on Wednesday.
New signings coming in in the form of Yuki Kobayashi and Alistair Johnston and plenty of strength in depth. Across Glasgow, and Rangers do not have that. Signings may arrive, but injuries and a lack of strength in depth is evident.
The title race hinges on Monday night. A win for Celtic sees them go 12 points clear, and with three home games in a row following that. Rangers have got to win and at the very least, stop Postecoglou’s men from getting a victory.
