Ian Wright has claimed that ‘everybody is excited’ about Liverpool transfer target, Jude Bellingham, as he told ITV Sport (29/03/22 at 11:35 pm).

At 18-years-old, Bellingham is producing performances like he has been on the domestic and international stage for a decade.

That’s a big reason why clubs like Liverpool are plotting to sign the all-action midfielder and he is probably going to be the most in-demand player in a few years time, that’s if Borussia Dortmund still manage to keep hold of him.

German outlet Bild have reported that Jurgen Klopp wants to knock on the door of his former club, Borussia Dortmund, and lure Bellingham to Merseyside for £85 million.

If that happens, then it would be some coup for the Reds, as Wright waxed-lyrical about the player after he won the Man of the Match award during England’s 3-0 friendly win over the Ivory Coast.

“We know what he’s capable of,” said Wright. “Everybody is excited about him.

“What we are seeing with someone like him in that ten role and pressing. Creative wise, him and Jack Grealish can break teams down. Give them the ball in certain areas.

“You want him to play regularly simply because of what he does. His natural game is to get forward. He presses, wins the ball and wants to get forward.

“That’s something he will probably add to his game. He will score more goals.”

Since the turn of the century, perhaps Wayne Rooney has been the most talented and exciting teenager to announce himself on the big stage.

It could be argued that Bellingham is up there, in terms of talent and the celling he can smash through.

Now, Rooney went on to become Manchester United and England’s all-time leading goalscorer, so Bellingham isn’t being asked to reach that level.

But, in ten years time, the Dortmund star will be at the peak of his powers and many will be backing him to be one of the best in the world.
