David Ornstein has said on Sky Sports News that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane will be committed to the club even if he fails to earn a move to Manchester City.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that Kane wants to leave Tottenham for Premier League champions City in the summer transfer window.

However, according to The Athletic journalist, if the England international striker does not get a move to City, then he will continue to work hard for Spurs and will be determined to bang in the goals like he has done for the past several years.

Ornstein said on Sky Sports News: “Harry Kane, we know, wants to go, and that desire remains undiminished as far as we know.

“But if that transfer window closes without Harry Kane having moved, everybody I speak to says that he is so fixated on breaking Premier League goalscoring records, on playing for England in the World Cup qualifiers and getting to the 2022 World Cup, then he will knuckle down and he will continue to play well and score goals, however frustrated he is.”

Encouraging for Tottenham Hotspur

Ornstein’s update this morning is very encouraging for Tottenham fans indeed.

It suggests that Kane will not kick up a fuss if Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy does not sell him this summer.

The 28-year-old is aiming to become the top scorer in Premier League history.

Kane is also the England captain.

Of course, Kane will be disappointed if he does not get the move he reportedly desires, but he is a professional footballer who is 28 and has at least four great years ahead of him.

Kane has scored 166 goals in 245 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The Times have reported that City are ready to bid £120 million for Kane next week.
